Back in June, Shimano introduced the latest generation of one of the most recognisable MTB groupsets – the Shimano Deore XT M8200. The new 12-speed mechanical drivetrain brings proven technologies from the electronic XT Di2 platform into a fully mechanical setup, delivering greater durability, more precise shifting and improved control in demanding conditions.
The biggest changes focus on the components that matter most in real-world riding. A completely redesigned rear derailleur with an advanced chain stabilisation system improves chain security over rough terrain, while the refined shifting mechanism delivers faster, more consistent gear changes under load. Every detail has been engineered to keep the drivetrain performing reliably when the trail gets technical, and the pace picks up.
